Sylva is a New Wood-Based Spirit with Low Alcohol Content

Ben Branson, the visionary behind the non-alcoholic spirits brand Seedlip, has introduced a new distillery that pushes the boundaries of low-alcohol beverages. Slyva is a distillery and maturation lab focused on producing 0.5% ABV spirits that replicate the complex flavors of aged whisky, cognac, and rum.

Slyva is based at Branson’s residence in Essex, where he has developed innovative production methods to create spirits that capture the essence of traditional aged liquors. The distillery’s debut product, Padauk, is a small-batch, vacuum-distilled rye spirit that gains its distinctive flavor through a unique process involving different types of wood.

"I am excited to celebrate wood’s unique and diverse flavours by championing innovative extraction and maturation techniques so we can break new ground on what dark non-alcoholic spirits can be," said Branson.

Retailing at £40 for a 50cl bottle, Padauk is available exclusively via the brand’s direct-to-consumer platform.
