BioTalent Canada received a grant in December of 2022 to put toward its Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). With this program, the company aims to help students in a variety of programs from STEM to business find work and become more work-ready.
The funding will be used to cover a portion of the initial wage of each student accepted into the program, totaling $7,000 CAD per student. This helps incentivise workplaces to hire younger workers who are more new to the workforce, without worrying about losing money on their investment in the next generation. Additionally, this initiative promotes the generational workforce shift as it accelerates the rate at which students and young adults are entering the full-time workforce.
