This Staircase-Designed Building Flows into Another Angular Design

These two side-by-side buildings in Paris express spiral abstract architecture and staircase-styled construction. One building is essentially a giant staircase that flows downward towards its sister building. Each floor on the sister building is on a slight rotation, making each corner protrude in a slightly different discretion.

Architects Hamonic + Masson & Associés and Nice studio Comte Vollenweider Architecte completed this housing project for Bouygues Immobilier. The staircase building measures 37 meters high and its angular sister building is 50 meters high.

Located on Avenue de France, Paris, the buildings are made of concrete with the exterior being lined with silver and gold aluminium panels. Featuring 200 new homes with 96 apartments and 92 social housing units, the building also features an underground parking lot and a ground-level shops. Each apartment has a balcony jutting out of the rotated floors giving a different perspective of the city from each floor.
