'Table for Two' is an art installation from Shani Ha that lets strangers interact through a restaurant window. Specifically, the installation is a table with two seats divided by the window of a New York restaurant. One person sits inside and the other person sits outside. If only one person sits, all they will see is their reflection. If two people sit, then they have the choice to interact or ignore each other. Regardless, both are served tea in white porcelain cups.
Ha was partially motivated to create 'Table for Two' due to the fact that in big cities many people feel alone and that most of our modern day interaction comes behind glass or screens. Shani Ha's installation is located at the corner of 7th Avenue and Carmine.
