The team of architects at Martin Fenlon designed an add-on to the existing house. The addition provides a street-facing view of the street. While the old unit was built with torched cedar siding, the design team's new addition features modern cedar siding -- ultimately creating a unique and elegant contrast between the two textures of wood. During the renovation, the old porch roof was removed and replaced with a sleek skylight which floods this home's interior with an abundance of natural light.
The overall design uses the retro bungalow to create something entirely new without starting from scratch.
