Australian fashion brand Alquema enlisted the help of the Loopcollective design studio for the creation of a unique retail clothing rack using 3D printing technology.
With a conceptual design for the custom-made sculptural steel clothing rack created, Loopcollective director Rod Faucheux notes: "We had no fewer than five builders tell us that what we had designed could not be built." Fortunately, 3D Printing Studios stepped up to help with creating the "impossible." The steel clothing clothing is now a centerpiece of Alquema's new flagship store in Sydney, Australia. Rather than resting on the main bar, hangers can be neatly suspended from hooks along the upper steel frame.
Considering how often retail stores have their designs refreshed, the immediacy in which 3D-printed structures can be prototyped and produced offers an time- and cost-effective way to create dynamic in-store installations, displays and more.
