Restored Retro Homes

Renovations Changed This Victorian Townhouse into a Modern, Minimalistic Home

Architect Paul Archer took on a Victorian home that was deteriorating over time and turned it into a restored retro home for a young family.

This 19th Century townhouse located in North London required for 'Paul Archer Designs' to create a modern, habitable home while maintaining the existing character, integrity and architecture of the historical residence. The 'Max House' is five-storeys and required work from the basement, which was reinforced and renovated to the top floor.

The approach to the home was to de-clutter the space and the designers took that as an opportunity to create storage units to prevent opposing the minimalist goal. As a luxurious element, Archer used a glossy, black marble wall to create separation in the space.
