Powerfully Merging Architecture Photography

Profiles of Milan Consolidates People and Architecture

Franceso Paleari combines Milans residents with the cities famous architecture in his stunning black and white series 'Profiles of Milan' (or 'Profili di Milano'). The left side of the image is comprised of each resident's side profile, which are artistically blended into the right side of the image, composed of historical buildings.

As for his process, Palaeri notes that his camera is "a tool to extract and fix particular aspects of reality." Each visual manipulation plays upon the natural shapes and curves of both the people and the buildings, creating an interesting hybridization of the two. Palaeri's work makes an interesting commentary on the relationship people have with the cities they live in. The monochromatic series is a must-see for any architecture lovers.
