Calendrical Paper Fashions

The Paper Dresses Created by Art Students Represent Months of the Year

These incredible paper dresses were created by students of the Estonian Academy of Arts for a calendar, with each dress representing one month of the year. As if constructing a garment from paper isn't enough of a challenge, the students had further parameters like only being allowed to use paper from one company.

Students were mentored by fashion designer Marit Ilison for the project, who noted that the students had very little time to fabricate prototypes and finished proucts. Even so, the results are stunning.

The 12 best looks were picked for the calendar, ranging from all-white paper dresses to represent the winter months to more colorful paper creations that resemble blossoming flowers reserved for the months with warmer weather. Each of the looks from the '12 Shapes of Paper' help to keep the calendar exciting all year around.
