'ORG by vio' is a company that offers jewelry collections made by indigenous artisans in the Amazon rainforest. The goal, for the team, is to support the local economy while at the same time giving fair trade wages to the artisans they work with. Furthermore, half of the profits from the sales of the accessories are reinvested back into the artisans' communities in order to develop and run community development projects, job training opportunities and foster a sustainable environment. The social business was founded by Peruvian Violeta Villacorta, who had previously worked as a designer at Patagonia for six years.
ORG by vio has been featured in various websites including environmentally focused ecouterre and Magnifeco but also German Vogue and the social entrepreneurship website Social Earth.
