Consumers who are looking for plant-based, non-dairy alternatives to milk are now able to choose from a wide variety of products, including everything from almond, soy and coconut milk to tigernut milk. Oat milk is emerging as one of the most popular milk alternatives on the market and HP Hood, a 170-year-old provider of dairy products, is introducing Planet Oat.
With Planet Oat, HP Hood acknowledges that many consumers have dairy milk at home in the fridge alongside plant-based milk options, and that it's not about making one product superior to another. Planet Oat's Original variety boasts two grams of fiber and protein, four grams of naturally occurring sugar and comes in at 90 calories per serving. Planet Oat also offers an Extra Creamy Original option, as well as flavored Vanilla and Dark Chocolate Oatmilk.
Soon, Planet Oat is planning to launch a barista version of its product, which is optimized for use in hot beverages.
