Inspired by the iconic quote that catapulted Chanel No. 5 to global fame, Chanel created a limited-edition No. 5 L'Eau de Chanel bottle to honor Marilyn Monroe. In a 1952 cover story, Monroe revealed that she wore nothing to bed but Chanel No. 5 and since then, Monroe and Chanel have been intertwined.
In 2024, the French fashion brand released a new drop bottle design for 2016’s No. 5 L’Eau, which pares back the original formula to its essence for a "fresher, more casual version of No. 5," as described by Chanel’s in-house perfumer Olivier Polge.
Wrapped in a drop of glass, this vintage-made-modern perfume shares bright top notes of citrus with florals at the heart, and a grounding base of white musk, cedar and vanilla.
