Community-Oriented Social Networks

Neighbourly Connects Projects, Charities and Engagement

Founded by Nick Davies, Neighbourly is a new website (launched in October 2013) that allows local charities, businesses and social enterprises to engage with communities and vice versa. It's free to join and in a way, even if unintended, it also operates as a sort of directory of social businesses. That is to say, it's a great place to browse and get to know what kinds of new ideas are out there and what kinds of impacts they have -- or can have.

The website itself is also a a sort of business. Here's what the team wrote on who Neighbourly makes money: "neighbourly works by charging a subscription fee to companies in return for unique business functionality. This includes search tools, backed project timelines, analytics packages and a reporting dashboard. A percentage of profits from company memberships will go back into the neighbourly foundation."
