Librarian Action Figures

Doll Replicated After Real-Life Librarian Nancy Pearl

When I stumbled upon this librarian doll (or action figure), I couldn't help but wonder why.

This 5” toy is based on Nancy Pearl, a real life Seattle-area librarian.

For whatever reason, the toy must have sold well enough for the new deluxe edition to be produced.  Other than a different colored outfit, the deluxe version features a button on Nancy Pearl's back which produces a librarian's stereotypical amazing shushing sound.

Additionally, in a consumer driven society, the more products catered to the underdog categories, the higher the consumption levels, and the more power and cultural influence these groups have. This explains the recent rise of geek chic that has erupted in the fashion world.
