Sosu Architects Create a Perforated Facade in Seoul

Sosu Architects were tasked with creating a multi-generational house that can accommodate a couple and their daughters' family in a densely populated area. The Donsimwon House takes up the entire plot, while its facades are cut at "different angles to comply with regulations regarding rights to light." The six-storey building boasts a cladding with brick and is strategically perforated.

The interior of the multi-generational house is arranged so that it accommodates the needs of each family. Keeping in mind the possible dynamics of the inhabitants, Sosu Architects creates areas that are intended for communal use. While the stair spaces between apartments are made ideal for children at play, the kitchen and living room on the parents' floor is designed to be shared with the entire family.
