The Augustine in Prague is the newest hotel in the Rocco Forte Collection. The 101-bedroom property, which includes 16 suites, was created from seven buildings, including the 13th Century Augustinian St Thomas’s Monastery.
Several practicing monks still live in a separate part of the monastery adjacent to the hotel grounds.
The Augustine’s lovely historic external features have been beautifully restored and merged with the hotel’s chic modern interior design.
The hotel’s elegantly designed bedrooms all boast stunning views over the courtyards, the monastery chapel or Prague Castle. All rooms feature decor inspired by 1930’s Czech cubism.
In addition to The Monastery restaurant, guests have the choice of two bars including Tom’s Bar, located in the monastery’s former barrel-vaulted double-height hall, and The Brewery Bar, housed in the cellar, in the former St. Thomas’s brewery building, complete with 17th century stalactites and stalagmites.
Located in the picturesque Malá Strana district, The Augustine offers the ultimate in relaxation and invigoration through the hotel’s spa which features four treatment rooms, a hammam offering special heat treatments, sauna, steam room and an 80 sqm fully-equipped gym.
