Transparent Chapel Architecture

This Modern Chapel is Designed With Minimalism in Mind

Sacher Locicero Architects's latest project is a modern chapel that embodies a minimalist air. The place of worship is located in the heart of Austria's countryside -- a location abundant with hills, grassy meadows and vast vineyards.

The 'Maria Magdalena' church boasts a geometric shape and is accented by a sharp and triangular roof. Accented with concrete and glass, the modern chapel boasts parallel glass panels that make it appear transparent.

The structure's transparent elements give its interior a serene quality -- bathing it with light and giving churchgoers a stunning view of its natural landscape. Whether visited in the summer or during a snowy winter day, this chapel appears monumental and is truly an example of contemporary architecture that can be described as heavenly.
