This summer, Nabisco is expanding its cookie lineup yet again with the debut of Mississippi Mud Pie Oreos.
For those unfamiliar with the dish, Mississippi Mud Pie is a chocolate-based dessert that features a crumbly chocolate crust, a gooey chocolate topping and is often served with a scoop of ice cream. In order to mimic the taste of the beloved Southern desserts, the new Oreo cookies feature a half chocolate creme and half whipped cream-flavored filling. The filling is then sandwiched between two chocolate Oreo biscuits. The result is an indulgent cookie that boasts a deep chocolate flavor, just like that of real Mississippi Mud Pie.
While the Mississippi Mud Pie Oreos are slated for release in late May, some fans have already spotted the chocolatey treats on the shelves of select Dollar General locations.
