Lurpak Plant Based Offers a Alternative to Butter

Lurpak Plant Based has been announced by the ARLA Foods-owned dairy brand as its latest product that's crafted with a premium recipe in mind to provide consumers with an elevated option to use in place of butter or margarine.

The product is crafted with taste, texture, nutrition and sustainability in mind, and responds to consumer demand for food items that strike a balance between all these attributes. The product is arriving in the UK market starting August 21, 2024 in releasable tubs and is positioned as a complementary option to other varieties on the market rather than a replacement for greater overall variety.

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Giørtz-Carlsen spoke on the Lurpak Plant Based spread saying, "As a farmer-owned cooperative, dairy is and always will be, at the heart of Arla. But in order to strengthen the position of our brands and attract new consumers, we have to innovate. We believe there is room for both dairy and non-dairy in a healthy, sustainable diet and our new innovation in plant-based allows us to offer our shoppers that choice within our brand portfolio."
