Lucky Pie and Upslope Work Together on a Lactose-Free Milk Stout

Lactose is a common ingredient when it comes to craft beers but to combat that with more inclusive palettes, Lucky Pie works with Upslope on a vegan milk stout. The duo join forces to create a beer for those who are lactose intolerant, brewing the drink with oat milk.

The name of the drink is 'Oakmilk Stout' -- Jack Walsh, Upslope's brewer explains that the company "wanted to do something different, but also hip and a little bit funny. It seemed unique to make a milk stout with no lactose." The libation is brewed with 24 gallons of creamy oat milk to give it the same velvet texture that is in a traditional milk stout without using any dairy at all. The dark color is evoked from "a dense, cappuccino head reveals notes of cocoa, caramelized sugar, biscuit and light nuances of vanilla."
