Devin Keyes from Keyes Office of Architecture kicks off a new project that is the Live Oak Ridge Residence resting along the hills in Texas' West Lake Hills. It is a modern home that is designed to celebrate its tree surroundings whilst maintaining privacy for the residents.
The house is constructed to have a lot of outdoor space as well as a swimming pool right by the house to withstand the heat of the state. The exterior is made with two contrasting materials -- black metal panels and pale limestone. When placed together, it visually complements one another as the stone functions as the entryway that leads in from the street. The soffits are designed in a cedar wood that matches the decking and surrounds the outdoor pool.
