This holiday season, Dubai's Mall of the Emirates created a captivating eight-meter tall carbon-neutral festive LED tree that sends a powerful message about caring for the earth. Every hour from 12PM until midnight, the tree showcases a display on climate change and sustainability, as well as how the community can work together to reduce its impact on the environment. As part of the immersive experience, visitors are invited to make a pledge to live more sustainably and for every one pledge made, Majid Al Futtaim will plant a tree.
Since the start of its sustainability journey, which kicked off 15 years ago, Mall of the Emirates has succeeded in a 7% reduction in water usage, 4% reduction in carbon emissions, a 32% increase in recycling rate and generating 3M kWh renewable energy.
