This infographic by Simply Measured examines how brands are using Twitter, with a focus on the Interbrand Top 100 Brands. Some of the Best Global Brands in 2013 looked at in this study include ones like Google, Apple, Disney, Amazon and Facebook. 58% of these top 100 brands have a following of about 100,000 on Twitter.
There seems to be a sweet spot for brands that send out 1-5 tweets per day, although on average this number can go up to about 10, including replies and retweets. As far as engagement goes, eBay wins. Surprisingly, it has a considerably smaller following than other accounts that are not far behind in terms of engagement levels. As Simply Measured points out, visuals are a key part of boosting brand engagement on Twitter.
