These heartwarming photographs of homeless people with pets are meant to shed light on a good cause. Photographer Norah Levine captured them in collaboration with audio producer Gabrielle Amster and the 4PAWS Program by the Animal Trustees of Austin to share the stories of the homeless and their companions.
The 4PAWS program, which stands for ‘For People and Animals Without Shelter,’ provides veterinary care for homeless people’s pets. Some of its free care involves neutering services, vaccinations and emergency surgery.
The series is titled 'Lifelines' and truly shows the bonds that humans have with their pets -- no matter their living and financial situation. Pets can put a smile on anyone's face and people will go to great lengths to maintain that positive aspect in their lives.
