The iconic Richard Branson, founder and Chairman of Virgin Group, is a strong supporter of socially responsible and green business ventures. During one of his speeches he stated, "We must look at the issues around protecting our natural resources; one of the biggest entrepreneurial opportunities of our lifetime."
According to Branson, time is running out for entrepreneurs and businesses to adopt environmentally friendly practices. The excuse routinely used by businesses, corporations and governments when it comes to implementing environmental policies is that they cannot afford it because of the financial barriers. What most don't realize, however, is that soon the cheaper alternatives will no longer be available. Branson is quick to remind his audiences that there is no 'Planet B' after the resources on 'Planet A' are depleted.
He believes that the businesses that are able to strike a balance between consumption and conversation will emerge as the most successful.
