Kenneth Hobgood Architects 'GK House' has been constructed in North Carolina's Chapel Hill district. Transparent plates of glass allow viewers to look deep into the grounds that extend for approximately 1.5 acres.
The history of the space upon which GK House is built is as deep as its view, if not more. Hobgood's team decided to use the Coker Estate as its foundation, also known as the home of botanist Dr. Coker. It was he who brought an assortment of plants to Chapel Hill, and the region has continued to commemorate his contributions to the flora-based field from the time of his passing.
GK House's see-through structure fits with Coker Estates past as it permits North Carolina residents to become one with nature.
