Ginquila Was Inspired by the Cantarito Cocktail

Inspired by the tequila‐based Cantarito cocktail, Skeptic Distillery created Ginquila, a new gin spirit finished in tequila barrels for seven months. The Cantarito is considered to be the predecessor to the Paloma cocktail and across bars in the Southwestern US and Mexico, it is served in a clay pot to keep it chilled.

Ginquila is made with staples like juniper, as well as cinnamon, thyme, arbol and chipotle peppers, plus lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit and papaya. Thanks to its unique combination of ingredients and the way the spirit is finished, it is said to have notes of citrus and mild spice. When it comes to enjoying Ginquila, Skeptic Distillery recommends keeping it simple and serving it over ice with grapefruit soda or including it in a tequila cocktail.
