'Tis the season for hotels to be putting up and decking out their lobbies in the biggest and best Christmas decorations, so it's no surprise that the JW Marriott in Phoenix, USA has unveiled their first ever life-sized gingerbread village.
This town of sugary sweetness consists of 13 4 x 6 feet gingerbread homes and a clock tower in Santa's village. Spread over 1,500 square feet of space, this tasty town took over 4,000 pounds of gingerbread cookie dough to construct in addition to the 3,240 of gingerbread bricks it to make the shingle roofs, the 2,000 pounds of icing, 750 pounds of sugar and 25,000 eggs it took to construct the entire village.
The 17 pastry chefs at the JW Marriott worked a total of 800 hours to put together this delicious gingerbread village, and it really does show.
