Slatted Facade Abodes

Apollo Architects Builds the Foo House in Japan

The Food House is located in Japan and was built by the popular firm Apollo Architects. Considering it's located next to a busy street, the team did everything they could to try and provide as much privacy as possible to the owners.

To do this, space was put around the outside of the home for a garden area, along with a large wall to block out prying eyes and traffic. In the top section of the house, vertical pieces of slatted wood have been placed on the facade, allowing for sufficient airflow throughout the residence. This also helps to give the people sitting in the top area sufficient shade on sunny days.
