Pushing the boundaries of social acceptance, artist Lucy Sparrow has created an adult shop full of nothing but naughty felt art.
Lucy Sparrow has been creating collectible objects out of felt for years, but most of those followed themes that you would expect from felt art: quirky felt imitations of food and everyday items, replicas of Andy Warhol paintings, etc. In her first full-scale felt art installation, Sparrow made 'The Cornershop,' a typical little corner store where all of the merchandise was crafted out of felt. This time, Lucy Sparrow is pushing the boundaries of felt art, comfort in public spaces and acceptance of the adult industry with 'Madame Roxy's Erotic Emporium.'
Taking place in London's West End, the installation features 5,000 felt art items, many of which would be illegal were they not made of felt. All of the shop's erotic oddities are for sale over the course of the exhibit.
