With summer just around the corner, Captain D's has released a new dish that puts a tropical twist on deep-fried shrimp. In recent years, chains such as Burger King, McDonald's and Popeyes have begun offering a greater number of seafood options. In order to compete, seafood-centric fast food chains such as Captain D's have begun experimenting with new and exciting flavors.
D's Jumbo Coconut Shrimp is the newest dish on the Captain D's summer menu and it joins other tropical fare such as Strawberry Limenade and the new Coconut Cake. The dish itself consists of six pieces of deep-fried shrimp coated in a flavorful coconut batter. Along with the shrimp, the dish also includes two pieces of hand-battered fish, hushpuppies, two sides and a container of sweet pineapple sauce for dipping.
