Bond Pet Foods Created Cultured Chicken Protein for Cats and Dogs

At the same time a handful of innovative food start-ups are introducing lab-grown meat products for human consumption, Bond Pet Foods is now introducing the world's first animal-free, cultured chicken meat protein for dog and cat nutrition products. The prototype sets itself apart as an animal-free chicken protein for commercial pet food applications and it has already shown great promise in a baked treat recipe that was sampled at its Boulder headquarters.

In the process of fully developing its prototype, Bond Pet Foods is working towards having its animal-free, cultured chicken meat protein offer "same primary nutrients of conventional chicken meat including its essential amino acids, and will meet or exceed AAFCO requirements for both dogs and cats." The first chicken-based products are expected to make their debut in 2023.
