You've probably heard Beethoven's Ode to Joy, but I'm willing to bet you've never heard it performed in a deserted tunnel with a broken plate.
YouTube user Mennyi has recreated Beethoven's ninth symphony by shattering a plate, and then kicking the shards around the pavement to recreate the notes. The effect was accomplished with a whole lot of clever editing as well as a keen ear for pitch and notes. To create the effect of multiple notes being played at the same time, the video is split into four separate screens with the sound layered one on top of the other. Despite sounding a little out tune (next time he should make sure to tune his broken plate shards properly), the effect of the video is surprisingly intoxicating.
I never thought that broken plates could be so musical.
