Daniel Arsham is introducing a new modified version of the Porsche 1955 ‘356 Speedster’ inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Wabi Sabi,’ also known as “a world view that finds beauty and serenity in the simple, imperfect, and impermanent.” The ultra-rare two-seater convertible has been transformed into a unique vehicle thanks to Arsham, now boasting a raw brushed metal exterior.
The interior is designed with Japanese textiles inspired by POGGY and BerBerJin director Yutaka Fujihara, while the open-top cabinet is designed using aged materials like indigo–dyed boro, Sashiko-stitched canvas, and Japanese denim.
The vehicle is finished with a patinated bronze 3D cast on the rear engine grill, while a ‘Bonsai’ New York license plate refers to the vehicle’s name.
