Yesterday's episode of The Pitch centered around an online theme, with both participants presenting their respective attempts to enhance the online experience; one for today's business owners and marketers, and the other for the business owners of the future.

First to face the panel is SEO expert Krista LaRiviere, Co-Founder and CEO of gShift Labs. Looking to capitalize on the relevance and mystique of search engine optimization, LaRiviere offers marketers and business owners a way to optimize their web presence with gShift Labs, a software that tracks a client's web presence, helps optimize for certain key phrases and ultimately, alleviates the need for paid search ads. Second is Jack Tai, Co-Founder & CEO of Notesolution, a platform allowing post-secondary students to share and edit academic material. What differentiates Notesolution from, say, a GoogleDocs is its unique incentive system based on credits that can be purchased or gained through site activity and then exchanged for information.

Ultimately, most of the judges saw great potential in gShift Labs. Gutsche -- whose vote of confidence is a coveted rarity -- sees opportunity in LaRiviere's product as SEO and search engine ranking is of great importance to today's online companies. Though Brian Kobus of Summerhill Venture Partners showed concern in regards to competitors, the overall consensus among the judges was affirmative. Though the judges did think Notesolution was based on a great idea, they were less receptive to it than with the former. Showing concern for the company's size and ability to grow aggressively, most judges gave this post secondary-specialized site a pass. Watch the episode to see how the panel responded.
