Bureau A, a Swiss architecture firm, created a highly original blow-up building to host a temporary nightclub.
Dubbed simply the 'Shelter,' the exterior of the space looks like a whimsical series of tubes that appears as if it's taken straight out of a cartoon realm. The interior is surprisingly spacious, which is definitely enhanced by the use of all-black PVC walls and flooring. In addition to functioning as a place of celebration for the Federation of Swiss Architects, the blow-up building was made to explore "the architecture of the underground."
The Shelter's creators explained this by saying "Architecture seeks the underground, searches for new territories under the skin of the earth." In saying this, Bureau A considers the contrast between the structures that one sees every day versus those that hide beneath them -- which is something that the Shelter straddles.
