Spanish studio Nook Architects redesigned a Barcelona apartment located in the city's Gothic quarter.
The G-ROC apartment was preceded by the Casa Roc, Twin House and Roc3 flats. The architects designed the apartment using leftover materials from the previous three. This includes tiles and kitchen unit fronts. The architects explain, "Differently from the other three interventions, we had extra height and a gallery space we wanted to include in the project."
The interior, which is characterized by blue walls and yellow-stained surfaces, was divided into three distinct areas. The entrance opens into the kitchen, where the excess floor tiles are arranged into a hexagonal mosaic, covering a portion of the polished concrete floors. The architects disassociated the dining area from the adjacent living and sleeping quarters using a light blue wall sectioning.
