Sustainable Water-Carrying Vessels

The BackthePack WaterWear Bag Has Sustainability in Mind

The Greif WaterWear backpack is the BacktheBack movement's answer to the problem of safe and cost-efficient water transportation around the world. In creating the backpack, a product of several cross-industry partnerships, the movement aimed to provide the lowest costing, most ecologically responsible and ergonomically correct way to transport water.

In reducing the risk of neck and back injury from something that is a daily chore for many globally, the WaterWear backpack is a better alternative to common makeshift water-carrying vessels. Also notable is the fact that in shipping, seven WaterWear backpacks take up the same amount of space as one traditional water jug.

BackthePack's launch goal is to reach 100,000 packs sold between March 22 and September 3, 2012, to which they have currently sold over 15,000 packs. Donations can be made on the movement's website, with a $10 contribution equivalent to one pack.
