This Artist Retreat by 0 to 1 Architects is a Live-Work Space

The architects at the New York-based firm 0 to 1 have created this innovative 'artist retreat.'

Located in the garden of an established Finnish fine artist, this artist retreat is to be a place where a guest artist can live and work. It features a slanted, triangular shape -- which is actually a quarter of an octagon, describes the architects. The light required for work is provided through one large window higher up on the building, and there is also a second window that provides the frame for the first floor and outlines the sleeping area. The back of the structure features a narrow triangle-shaped terrace, where the sloping roof and walls meet.

This artist retreat is definitely an innovative concept and something that could extend to other types of work that require solitude and retreat.
