Healesville-based spirit maker Four Pillars has announced the launch of its limited-edition pink gin -- Four Pillars x Arbory Afloat Pink Gin -- in Australia. First introduced in 2019, the bottling was created via a collaboration between the distillery and Arbor Afloat, a floating restaurant in Melbourne.
Originally, the pink gin was only available to purchase at the physical Arbor Afloat venue. Now, however, Four Pillars has opted to begin selling the limited edition spirit on its website where it offers shipping throughout Australia. According to the company, the rose-colored gin was inspired by the Turkish coast, offering a reinterpretation of the brand's signature expression.
"The palate is a little different – pine forest juniper, light spice with a lingering Turkish delight character from the rose water. The light-pink colour comes from the addition of carmine, the natural colour used in many liqueurs such as Campari," said Cameron Mackenzie, distiller at Four Pillars.
