Aluminum cladding is by no means unusual to find on the outside of a building, but what makes this house in Japan stand out is its unconventional angular shape and the quilted pattern that envelops the entire home.
Dubbed the Soft-Hard Aluminium House, this design by Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori is surrounded by fairly traditional homes that make this one seem like something dropped down from the sky courtesy of another planet. Despite the unusual appearance of the home from the outside, the interior of the house goes back to tradition with plaster and wood. The home also doesn't have very many windows in comparison to neighboring houses, which will at least keep curious people from peeping in.
