These 3D-Printed Sweets Get Their Forms from Weather Data

Tokyo-based bar and restaurant THE MOON created a series of limited-edition 3D-printed sweets based on weather data. Specifically, the sweets are based on the weather of the day the Tokyo Tower and the Tokyo Sky Tree were completed, as well as the solar eclipse in the Heisei period. These sweets offer a representation of five different weather factors from each day, and feature different textures, shapes and colors to match. While rounded petals indicate a high pressure system, the day's highest wind speed is indicated by the bottom layer. The high and low temperatures are communicated through color, with red naturally representing hot and blue meaning cold.

The Cyber Wagashi treats were created as part of a technology project from Open Meals that's centered on digitizing food experiences.
