40 Facebook Innovations

From Luke Worrall's Viral Status Change to Facebook Dipping:

Facebook has quite literally changed the world; its popularity was thrust into the stratosphere this week when tabloid magazines reported Luke Worrall revealed his engagement to Kelly Osbourne using the infamous social networking site’s relationship status change feature.

Facebook wasn’t always the household name it is today. In the early to mid-2000s, Facebook was first restricted just to Harvard students, and then only Ivy League students. Back then, it was known as The Facebook, with its corresponding URL. While Luke Worrall was still in grade school, students broke up-to-the-minute news like internships, breakups, new relationships, and scandalous new hook-ups (It’s Complicated, anyone?) via the social networking site.

It’s hard to believe just how far Facebook has come, especially considering some of the innovations below. The INQ1 Facebook phone, for example, caters to the Facebook-using public. Will Luke Worrall use the INQ1 to change his status to ‘Married’ once he and Kelly Osbourne tie the knot?

Facebook has revolutionized the social scene, with users all over the world participating in impromptu pool parties, beauty analyzers, blood donation, and activism. Let’s hope Luke Worrall uses his Facebook powers for good.
