Zara is now launching a circular denim collection for its baby and children's lines. The retailer recently released a collection of children's denim made in cooperation with Ellen MacArthur's Jeans Redesign, a program comprised of guidelines created by more than 80 industry experts across a wide range of categories in support of a circular denim economy. As a result, most of the line's textiles are created from 80% cotton and 20% recycled cotton.
It is simple to deconstruct every component introduced to the cloth for recycling or reuse. Zara explains that it avoided using metal rivets or zippers in the children's line and instead included detachable buttons. Information regarding the garment's recycling design is also in the interior pocket bags to inform the customer about its circular nature.
