Following the launch of YouTube Gaming as a video game streaming platform and a hub for eSports entertainment, YouTube is now giving fans of YouTube gaming channels the chance to support their favorite creators.
YouTube Gaming now allows for content creators to enable sponsorships, which will give fans the chance to support them for $4.99 monthly. Those who offer their support have the chance to receive a range of perks, including everything from custom badges and emojis to exclusive chat groups.
So far, some channels have already seen great success with YouTube Gaming sponsorships. As YouTube Gaming Product Manager Barbara Macdonald reports: "GameAttack makes most of their channel revenue via sponsorships and Super Chat. Rocket Beans earned 1,500 sponsors in their first day."
