The yellow steel is a major design component of this home. Located in Hampton Hill — a neighborhood in South West London, the vibrant addition considerably increases the playfulness of the space.
Woodrow Architects was commissioned to produce and build an extension to an already existing terraced house. The creatives looked toward contemporary sensibilities and aimed to facilitate an aesthetic that was bold and captured attention by way of strong contrasts. As a result, the yellow steel beam and other dispersed hits of the color are met head-on by the dark-nuanced kitchen cabinets and the black matte wall. The intensity of the color difference surely contributes to the cheerfully elegant aesthetic of the home.
