This Wooden Bridge Boardwalk Goes a Full 360 Degrees From Land to Water
Danish architect design studio Gjode & Povlsgaard Arkitekter created this unique wooden bridge as a sculpture project. It is an aesthetically breathtaking bridge from above and it acts as a playful walking trail on land.
The circular bridge is located on the beachfront so pedestrians have access to the portion of bridge that is embedded in the sand. The bridge unfolds into the water like a dock. This is where a majority of the wooden bridge sits. The boardwalk is made of 60 wooden elements that allow the bridge to rise above the water level depending on the time of day and season.
The idea for this project was to connect the city with the bay. By incorporating both locations, it allows local citizens and tourists to become more aware of the beautiful scenery.
