Indian architecture studio Workers of Art works on a new project in the form of the WOA Second Home, which is its own studio office space. It converts what was once a storage space into a work location filled with plants. It uses a fusion of repurposed waste and recycled materials throughout all aspects of the design. It is located in Kochi, Kerala, and takes over a 1,450-square-foot space.
The studio explains that "The design celebrates the value of materials that might have otherwise been discarded, creatively forming patterns and combining different elements to breathe new life into the space. For instance, odd-shaped waste tiles are harmoniously mixed and matched, finding their new home in the powder room. A strikingly repurposed tile piece also elevates the entry steps, underscoring the studio's attention to detail and innovative flair."
