Wire Works Bourbon Barrel is the first spirit of its kind from the Derbyshire-based distillery that aims to offer a distinct flavor experience for discerning whiskey fans alike. The spirit is fully matured in ex-bourbon barrels and is lightly peated, which imparts a distinct flavor experience that's the most mature of the distillery's existing offerings. The single malt spirit maintains a balanced, complex profile that's bottled at 53.5% ABV and is making its debut in the UK directly from the distillery and select trade partners for £65 per bottle.
Co-Founder Max Vaughan spoke on the Wire Works Bourbon Barrel saying, "Bourbon Barrel is a signature whisky for us, elevating our house style and showcasing our unique flavour elements; our Derbyshire home, lightly peated malt barley, fresh local brewer’s yeast, long fermentation and slow distillation."
