Watermelon Day might have come and gone already, but summer is still here and that means a watermelon martini can be enjoyed. Of course, a watermelon martini would be good anytime of the year, there is no white pants after labor day rule here. Yet there is something especially perfect about drinking it on a hot sunny day.
Created by Blakely Trettenero of Yum Sugar, the watermelon martini was inspired by Beyonce's Drunk in Love song. All that is required are some watermelon chunks, lime, mint leaves, simple syrup, vodka and, of course, some ice. Shaken until the watermelon chunks are completely crushed, the liquid is then strained into a glass. Voila! Watermelon martini is ready to serve.
